Preparing for the Trial

Will I need a VPN?

No. All trials are set up directly to a private deviceConnect Cloud Website, dedicated to your company. Your company name will be added to the device cloud URL: COMPANYNAME.deviceconnect.com using a secure SSL connection.

Do I need my own mobile devices?

Mobile Labs will provide remote access to 2 iOS devices and 2 Android devices.

Will I be able to test my own mobile apps?

Yes, testing will be done using your apps. If you do not have an app, Mobile Labs will
provide mobile apps for trial purposes.

Is there a limit to the number of users who can access the POC environment?

No, the trial can be accessed by all members of your team, as needed. You will be provided with one Administrator login, and you can add as many logins as you need from there. Up to 4 tests can be run simultaneously on 4 separate devices.

Do I need to download anything?

Manual Automation and Appium Automation can be done without the need for any downloads.

If your development team would like to connect the devices to their development tools, the deviceBridge client will need to be downloaded. Once installed, developers will be able to have the devices show up in their tools as if they were tethered by a USB cable.

If you are using MicroFocus’ Unified Functional Test (UFT), you will need to download the Mobile Labs Trust™ Plugin. Trust is a certified add-in to UFT and it can be downloaded directly from your private website after you login.

How soon will I have access to my trial?

A Mobile Labs account representative will contact you immediately to get your trial scheduled. If you have any questions in the meantime you can reach us at info@mobilelabsinc.com.

How long will my trial last?

You will have access to deviceConnect for at least 14 days.

What happens at the end of the trial?

The Mobile Labs team will contact you before your trial expires to discuss next steps and deployment options

Can I extend my trial?

If you need to extend your trial, contact your Mobile Labs account representative.

Is the trial available for international customers?

Absolutely! We are ready to support your deviceConnect trial, regardless of location.

What types of devices are supported in this trial?

Mobile Labs will provide remote access to 2 iOS devices and 2 Android devices.

Do I get access to all product features?

Yes. The deviceConnect trial offers full functionality of the product, including secure access to mobile devices in the private device cloud and, if desired, deviceConnect’s automation engine, Mobile Labs Trust. Throughout your trial, you will have 24×7 access to Mobile Labs’ worldwide customer support organization.

Standard Cloud POC Requirements:

  • Testing workstations must be able to connect to the open web.
  • Testing workstations and the network they are using must allow connections over ports 80, 443 and 10160 (Only for Mobile Labs Trust and deviceBridge).

Want VPN Access Instead? No Problem.

VPN Requirements:

  • Client to Site VPN is available.
    • Allows a standalone VPN connection from a tester workstation.
    • Additional information will be needed for each workstation.

  • Site to Site VPN is also available.
    • This connects your private cloud directly to your network.
    • Allows any computer on your internal network to access our cloud system.
    • Additional network info will be needed.
