Following is a guest post by our partner, Paphos Group, outlining the challenges their customers currently face relative to mobility and how the company is helping to address those challenges.
Mobile Labs deviceConnect arrives in Europe
The story line starts in the summer of 2012 with our quality assurance manager Sander Stevens and his team starting the investigation into the landscape of mobile testing. A new venture into an unknown world characterized by many as, “the next big thing in quality assurance and testing solutions”. Following the vision of bringing computer-like processing power, storage and access to consumer’s palms, development and testing is swiftly evolving into a more prominent business area for consultants, with their knowledge and experience of the entire IT lifecycle.
Due to the immense popularity of mobile computing and the adaptation of mobility, new areas of opportunities are unfolding for companies every day. A vast majority of applications, newly developed process models and software are regularly passed by our team as our customers strive to address their upcoming needs to solve incoming queries concerning mobility, BYOD and the growing importance of apps across the IT landscape. After evaluating and analyzing our customers’ needs related to mobile app development and testing, it became clear to us that an extension of current enterprise testing environments is a common requirement for many of the medium and large organizations with which we work. These companies want to convert their existing test processes to a mobile environment – and they feel thrown back in time not being able to do it.
In order to address our customers’ needs, we forged a partnership with Mobile Labs enabling us to make their lineup of solutions, including deviceConnect™ and Mobile Labs Trust™, available to the European market. Our combined goal is to revolutionize mobile device sharing by making it economically and physically possible for more organizations to benefit from private device cloud management. Working in concert with Mobile Labs means we can provide our customers with secure access to and management of mobile devices in their test labs via deviceConnect, a private, internal device cloud. deviceConnect transforms manual testing efficiency and management, enabling testers to easily locate the right device and the right app and make an instantaneous connection to begin testing from any desktop in the enterprise. deviceConnect manages authorized users, available devices, and applications available for test – challenges are customers want to overcome. In addition, Mobile Labs Trust gives our customers the right tool to efficiently perform cross-platform, automated mobile application testing.
Next to being the local European reseller for deviceConnect, we act as a leading advisory and technology services company which is exclusively focused on IT Governance, Quality Management, Business Service Management and IT Sourcing. Together with our consultants we are enabling IT departments to achieve development and operational excellence. This is what we like to call “ERP4IT”.
For the Paphos Group, deviceConnect is the all-important tool which opens doors at enterprises and addresses the initial needs in bringing order to the chaos of mobile testing and providing a decisive extension to existing testing processes. It enables our customers to test in a more effective, efficient manner and allows them structuralized access into the mobile testing spectrum. In the end, Mobile Labs deviceConnect and Trust proved to be key in our analysis to take on the mobile testing trend in Europe!
