Mobile has changed the way we live. It’s changing the way business gets done. And it’s changing the way applications are developed and tested. We’re now seeing a mobile-first strategy. Forward-thinking IT professionals are developing apps for mobile first – before web and desktop apps. They’re using mobile application testing tools as a key component to roll out quality apps with reliability at a pace they NEVER imagined before the mobile revolution took hold.
Leverage Your Investment in Testing Tools and Resources with Mobile Labs Trust
Unlike previous revolutions, the mobile revolution has taken root in the consumer sector, ultimately driving corporate enterprises to keep pace. In the United States alone, the average mobile subscriber owns 1.5 mobile devices. It seems that everywhere you go, people are on their iPhones®, Androids™ and iPads®. Mobile Labs’ mission is to make testing mobile applications as easy as it is for Web applications. By creating a mobile application testing tool that’s an add-in to HP’s Unified Functional Testing (previously known as QuickTest Professional), Mobile Labs fills a need in the testing tools ecosystem. Mobile Labs Trust™ allows mobile testing professionals to leverage their existing investment not only in testing tools but also in the deep knowledge base their staff has already developed.
A Mobile-First Strategy
The enterprise market is dealing with the mobile device explosion. Consumers are bringing their own devices to work and demanding that they be able to use them with corporate data. Additionally, enterprise businesses are developing and implementing mobile strategies to create business efficiencies and better serve their customers – a mobile-first strategy.
…vendors shipped a total of 418.6 million mobile phones in 1Q13 compared to 402.4 million units in the first quarter of 2012 and 483.2 million units in the fourth quarter of 2012.”
What’s the impact of this mobile revolution? It is estimated that in 2014, mobile internet usage will overtake that of desktop internet usage. According to IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, vendors shipped a total of 418.6 million mobile phones in 1Q13 compared to 402.4 million units in the first quarter of 2012 and 483.2 million units in the fourth quarter of 2012. Preliminary data from the same analyst firm’s Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker reports that “worldwide tablet shipments continue to surge, growing 142.4% year over year in the first quarter of 2013 (1Q13). Tablet shipments totaled 49.2 million units in 1Q13, surpassing that of the entire first half of 2012. With growth fueled by increased market demand for smaller screen devices, tablets have shown no sign of slowing down.”
The fact is, mobility isn’t slowing down. More devices mean a need for more apps. In order to keep up and meet ever-increasing demands for enterprise mobile apps, IT has to look to mobile application testing tools like Mobile Labs Trust to help support mobile-first strategies.
